Pilgrimage: El Camino

In Spring 2014, Marcia Whitney-Schenck, 63, walked the ancient pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, starting in the Pyrenees. She walked alone for 500 miles in seven weeks, stopping occasionally to stay extra nights in towns, such as Pamplona and Leon, which have witnessed millions of pilgrims since the Medieval Ages.

In the presentation entitled Pilgrimage and the Sacredness of Walking, Marcia will show photographs from the pilgrimage and talk about the history and culture of El Camino. She will weave in meditations about walking and how it can become a practice in holy meditation.
